Johnson City man charged with giving false identity

A Johnson City man gave a false identity to police when he was stopped by an officer late Thursday night, according to a news release.
Johnny R. Williams, 31, 419 Hamilton St., was stopped about 11 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Wilson and West Watauga avenues. According to police, Williams “provided false information to officers concerning his identity... .”
He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $10,000 bond.
His arraignment was scheduled for Monday in Sessions Court.
