Dr. Waseem Ahmad, a specialist in internal medicine and infectious diseases, has joined the faculty at East Tennessee State University’s James H. Quillen College of Medicine.
Ahmad serves as an assistant professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases. As a partner with Quillen ETSU Physicians and Associates, he sees patients as an infectious disease specialist at two practice sites in Kingsport. He keeps office hours at Quillen ETSU Physicians Internal Medicine-Kingsport, 4 Sheridan Square, Suite 200, and is a member of the medical staff at Indian Path Medical Center.
Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Ahmad received advanced training at ETSU, completing his fellowship in infectious diseases earlier this year at Quillen. He finished his residency in internal medicine at Atlantic City (N.J.) Regional Medical Center, where he received the Resident Teacher Award.
He also completed a residency in internal medicine, as well as an internship in general surgery and internal medicine at Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
A member of the American College of Physicians, Ahmad is a medical school graduate of the University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan.
