Woman reports strong-arm robbery in Bristol, Va.

BRISTOL, Va. — Police were investigating a strong-arm robbery reported early Monday morning at a convenience market.
The robbery occurred about 4 a.m. in the parking lot of Zoomerz at the intersection of Commonwealth and Euclid avenues.
Police said a female victim reported that a man approached her and a short struggle occurred before she was knocked to the ground. The man took her purse and dumped the contents onto the ground. He then took cash from the contents, got into a vehicle and left heading south on Commonwealth.
The victim suffered minor injuries in the robbery, but she received medical treatment at the scene and did not require hospitalization, police said.
The robbery remained under investigation.
