ROGERSVILLE — A Kingsport mom accused of “excessive spanking” of her 19-month-old son in July was sentenced to 60 days in jail Monday as part of a plea agreement to the reduced charge of misdemeanor child abuse.

Allison Marie Blevins, 28, 332 Claremont Road, Kingsport, was charged with felony child abuse on Sept. 1 by the Church Hill Police Department in connection with an incident that occurred at Derrick Park in Church Hill on July 13.

On Monday, Hawkins County Sessions Judge Jay Taylor accepted the plea agreement negotiated by Public Defender Clifford Barnes and prosecutor Kevin Keeton.
