MEMPHIS (AP) — The reward fund in the Lorenzen Wright homicide case has grown to $21,000.
The former University of Memphis standout basketball player who later played for the Memphis Grizzlies and other NBA franchises was found shot to death more than a year ago in Memphis at age 34.
Officials announced on Monday that the state had contributed $5,000 to the fund and would add up to an additional $5,000 in matching money for other donations.
Later Monday, the Memphis Grizzlies announced the franchise was providing $5,000, which triggered the matching state funding, according to The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/oJVXdp).
With $10,000 from the state, $5,000 from the team, $5,000 from the Memphis City Council and $1,000 from the Crime Stoppers, the total fund is $21,000 for information leading to conviction.
