September 20th, 2011 6:33 am by Staff Report

Johnson City police caught two men stealing scrap metal early Tuesday morning from the remnants of an old factory, police said in a news release.
Christopher M. Forbes II, 20, 610 E. Myrtle Ave., and Justin W. Maggart, 26, 119 W. Chilhowie Ave., were each charged with theft over $500.
Police were investigating reports of scrap metal being taken from the demolition site at the old Leon Fernbach building on New Street when they saw Forbes and Maggart in the act, police said in the news release.
Each man was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Thursday.
