Takoma Regional recognized by Joint Commission

September 19th, 2011 2:50 pm by Staff Report

Takoma Regional Hospital was recently named one of the nation’s top performers on key quality measures by The Joint Commission, an accreditor of health care organizations in America.
Takoma is one of only two hospitals in Northeast Tennessee from Knoxville to Bristol to receive this national recognition in the categories of surgical care and pneumonia. Only 14 percent — or 405 — of all hospitals in the United States earned this important distinction. To be eligible to be named a “Top Performer,” audit data must show that a hospital meets or exceeds The Joint Commission’s strict quality standards 95 percent of the time.
