HARRISONBURG, Va. —ETSU’s volleyball team lost a pair of matches at the JMU Coca-Cola Classic on Saturday at Sinclair Gym.
The Lady Bucs fell to Appalachian State 3-1 in the morning and forced Georgetown to rally in a 3-2 loss in the afternoon.
Megan Devine led ETSU in both, notching a game and seasonhigh 22 kills against tournament champion Georgetown and posting her fifth double-double of the season with 17 kills and 10 digs against Appalachian.
ETSU’s Jamie Rutledge dished out 53 assists and was named to the all-tournament team. Jamie Stancliff had 12 of ETSU’s 16 blocks against the Hoyas. Ivey Rice and Bethany Gesell each had 13 kills, while Katie Muey had 15 digs.
ETSU (6-8) plays host to USC Upstate in its Atlantic Sun Conference opener on Tuesday.
