KINGSPORT — Kingsport police are investigating a Friday morning hit-and-run which sent a bicyclist to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. near the Netherland Inn Road and West Industry Drive roundabout. Kingsport Police Officer Larry Nunley reports four people were riding bicycles southbound on Industry Drive when a vehicle traveling the same direction struck a rider.

Police say the rider was knocked from his bicycle and suffered a back injury. The male driver of the car, a white or gray Chevrolet Malibu, initially stopped and offered to call 911.
