A woman who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the buttocks during an argument over the volume of a television was arrested Wednesday for aggravated assault, according to a police report.
Sharon D. Hagler, 41, 1500 Bellridge Road, was charged with aggravated assault after police said she stabbed her boyfriend, Charles Douglas Franklin, 28, in the buttocks, lower back and right forearm with a pocket knife.
Police responded to an aggravated assault call at the Bellridge Road residence just after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Franklin, who was taken to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, told police Hagler had started drinking Jack Daniels around 1 a.m., at which point he decided to go bed. A little while later, Franklin said Hagler came into the room, turned on the TV and turned the volume up so that he couldn’t sleep.
Police said that’s when the two began arguing. Franklin reportedly told police Hagler also was angry with him because he was going to move out.
Hagler allegedly held a knife to Franklin’s throat, and when he got out of the bed, she stabbed him in the buttocks, according to the report. Franklin then tried to pack his things and leave, but Hagler continued to assault him.
When Franklin saw that he was bleeding, he asked Hagler to help bandage his wound, but she reportedly said “she was going to get him” and stabbed him in the lower back. As Franklin tried to get his TV and leave the apartment, police said Hagler slashed his right forearm, causing a deep laceration.
Hagler was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where she is being held in lieu of $1,000 bond pending an appearance in Sessions Court appearance Monday at 9 a.m.
