Police make arrests in 2 Johnson City vehicle theft cases

Johnson City police on Tuesday made two arrests in recent vehicle theft cases.
Charles F. Mosier, 47, 128 Mill Creek Road, Erwin, was charged with theft of property over $1,000 and forgery. Police said in a news release that Mosier was accused of stealing a vehicle from Interstate 26 at University Parkway on Tuesday.
In a second case, police charged Tammy Day Smith, 35, 160 Highway 81 Loop, Jonesborough, with stealing a vehicle from 1304 E. Ninth Ave on Aug. 20.
Charged with theft of property over $1,000, Smith was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance today.
Mosier was held in the Detention Center on $20,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance today.
