Senior Jessica Hiltenbrand sent in a free kick from 30 yards out with 1:20 left in the double overtime to give the East Tennessee State women’s soccer team a 2-1 victory over Longwood on Friday at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
The Lady Bucs opened scoring in just the third minute as freshman Jenna Caudle netted her third goal in four games. Longwood responded 15 minutes later with a goal of its own. The game remained tied until Hiltenbrand’s shot.
ETSU outshot Longwood 15-13 and each team made five saves. Bucs goalkeeper Caitlin Gaughan tallied four for her second consecutive win.
ETSU continues its homestand on Sunday against Alabama A&M at 1 p.m.
