Man dies following wedding dispute scuffle

September 1st, 2011 4:37 pm by Staff Report

PARSONS (AP) — Decatur County police say a man upset over the seating arrangement at his daughter's wedding died after an altercation with the pastor.

District Attorney Hansel McCadams said officers were called to Amazing Grace Ministries on Saturday because of a disagreement between 58-year-old Joseph Tucsnak and Pastor Chris Warren.

Police said Tucsnak returned to the church Monday to confront Warren. McCadams said Tucsnak went to his vehicle and came back with a hand in his pocket and lunged at the pastor.

Police say Warren then pushed Tucsnak, who fell and hit his head on the pavement. Tucsnak died Tuesday at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville from his injuries.

McCadams didn't know exactly why Tucsnak was upset, but said police were continuing to investigate. No charges have been filed.

WSMV-TV in Nashville first reported the incident.
