Former Knoxville policeman gets probation on porn charge, but no clean record

September 1st, 2011 12:44 pm by Staff Report

KNOXVILLE (AP) — A former Knoxville police officer who had hoped to get his record cleared after a party with teenage girls has received probation on a felony count.

Nicky Ray Bryant did escape a jail term in a plea deal with prosecutors, according to The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/qsynd9).

Bryant and Donald Scott Clark both resigned from the city police department after they were accused of letting teenage girls drink at Bryant's apartment in 2009. No sexual allegations were made.

However the investigation revealed two pornographic videos involving teens had been downloaded, allegedly by Bryant. The four years of probation Bryant must serve are on a charge of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor over the videos.

Clark pleaded guilty to a lesser charge earlier this year.
