Reported explosions and fire at the Johnson City Municipal Airport early Saturday morning left one building completely destroyed.
The Johnson City Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 4:23 a.m. Officials say 911 received calls of several explosions and heavy fire. The first unit to arrive found one hanger fully involved in the fire. According to Lieutenant David L. Harrison, the building and its contents were a total loss, but five other structures were saved and there were no injuries reported. The incident is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s division of the Johnson City Fire Department.
