Hawkins inmate critical after fall from bunk

August 26th, 2011 9:21 am by Jeff Bobo

ROGERSVILLE — A Hawkins County jail inmate who was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after reportedly falling out of his bunk was listed in critical condition Thursday evening at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.

Ted Keiser, 79, 2860 Main St., Surgoinsville, began serving a 90-day jail sentence for violation of probation second offense on Aug. 8 stemming from a conviction in August 2010 for allowing livestock to run at large.

Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said Keiser apparently fell out of the lower bunk onto the floor about 3 a.m. Wednesday and hit his head.
