Sheriff's deputy: Muddy feet helped catch Rogersville man in a lie

ROGERSVILLE — A Rogersville man’s muddy feet helped catch him in a lie early Tuesday morning while Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office deputies were investigating a disturbance complaint on Main Street in Rogersville.
Shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday, HCSO Deputy Sam Wilhoit was dispatched to investigate a complaint of a disturbance including rocks being thrown at a window at 1600 Main St. in Rogersville.
Wilhoit was notified by Central Dispatch that the man in question had entered the residence through a window.
Wilhoit then entered the house and reportedly found the man, identified as Randall Edward Coffey, 21, 1606 Old Route 70-S, Rogersville, lying in bed.
