BRISTOL — Police have arrested the second of two men accused of sleeping inside caskets at a Bristol funeral home earlier this week.
Bristol police said in a news release that employees working in Weaver Funeral Home's casket storage facility discovered two men asleep in caskets on Tuesday morning.
When the employees told the men they were calling police, the men jumped out a window. One of the two escaped, but police caught the other.
Barrett Lance Hartsock was arrested that day and charged with burglary and vandalism over $1,000. Police said Hartsock gave an address of 627 Dixie St., Bristol, Va., but also stated he was homeless.
On Thursday, police announced the arrest of a second man, Larry Stumbo,18, no address available.
Police had described the man who fled as a white male, possibly named "Lars" and using the nicknames "Sparks" or "Sparky." He was shirtless when he fled the funeral home and was last seen in the Cherry Street area.
The men caused more than $9,000 in damages to the caskets, police said on Tuesday.
