Motorist arrested after passing Kingsport bus unloading students

KINGSPORT — A Kingsport man, whose license is reportedly revoked for DUI, was arrested Wednesday after allegedly passing a bus unloading students at an elementary school.

An arrest report at the Kingsport Police Department states the incident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. outside Andrew Johnson Elementary, 1001 Ormond Drive. The officer states he observed a 2011 Jeep Wrangler pass a school bus that was stopped and unloading children, with its stop sign extended and red lights flashing.
