August 18th, 2011 8:18 am by Staff Report

Johnson City lost its second straight game to the Kingsport Mets on Wednesday, getting shut out 6-0 at Cardinal Park.
Four Mets pitchers combined to keep the Cards scoreless. Starter Juan Urbina threw six shutout innings, scattering five hits and striking out three.
Kingsport remained tied for second, moving to five games behind Johnson City in the Appalachian League West Division. The Mets are tied with the Elizabethton Twins, who also won Wednesday, defeating Bristol 7-3.
The shutout was just the second of the season for Johnson City. The only other time this year was a 3-0 shutout against Kingsport on July 23.
Cards’ starter Tyrell Jenkins was saddled with the loss, give up four runs on five hits with five strikeouts in five innings. Breyvic Valera had two of Johnson City’s six hits.
The Cards will again play host to the Mets in the series finale tonight at 7 p.m.
