ELIZABETHTON — A North Carolina man was arrested early Monday morning on several drug charges after Carter County deputies reported he was found carrying several types of pills.

Daniel Robert Tester, 26, Lenoir, N.C., was arrested by Deputy Wayne Pritchard on charges of possession of a schedule II drug for resale, possession of a schedule III drug for resale, possession of a schedule II drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pritchard said he and Lt. Jeff Markland were responding to a domestic disturbance complaint at 149 Hart Road. When they arrived, they found Tester and another man sitting in an outbuilding behind the residence.

When Pritchard searched Tester, he reported he had two medicine bottles in his pockets and each bottle had three different types of pills. In total, the bottles contained 130 tablets of diazepam, six doses of morphine and two methadone pills. A metal spoon with residue on it was also found.

Tester is scheduled to answer the charges in Sessions Court on Sept. 20.
