The Fresh Market is scheduled to open its doors Dec. 21, the Wednesday before Christmas, according to construction and development officials working on the project.
“We hope to be open by Christmas, and more specifically Dec. 21,” said James Reinhardt, a superintendent with general contractor J.S. Clark. “I am on a 16-week schedule, and we usually beat that.”
Reinhardt has been brought in to upfit the store, and he’s no stranger to Fresh Market’s specifications. The Johnson City store is the 15th or 16th Fresh Market that Reinhardt has built out in four years, he estimated.
It’s also one of the smaller locations he has finished, at 19,025 square feet.
When finished, the store will have a floral area, a deli, a bakery and produce, coffee, meat and fish sections, among other selections, Reinhardt said.
Two other restaurants plan to open for business when Fresh Market does, said William Roller, a developer with Mountcastle Corp.
Moe’s Southwest Grill and Yobe, a frozen yogurt shop, have signed leases for the 3,400-square-foot space next to Fresh Market. Both franchises are owned by the same company, so their space will be an open floor plan; customers will enter the Moe’s and be able to see the Yobe in the back of the store.
Moe’s and Yobe will also have outside dining, Roller said.
Two more retail spaces in the shopping center, totaling about 8,000 square feet, remain unfilled, according to Roller.
