2 elderly sisters fatally shot in rural East Tennessee

PIKEVILLE (AP) — Two elderly sisters have been found fatally shot at a home in rural East Tennessee.

Bledsoe County investigators told WRCB-TV ( ) that the bodies of 82-year-old Elizabeth Brown and 79-year-old Billie Sue Blalock were found in a home Tuesday morning.

Bledsoe County's chief deputy said one of the women was found in a bedroom and the other was outside the home.

Blalock was a retired bank employee and Brown was a former nurse.

Family members said both women were widows and lived on the property.

The chief deputy said there was no sign of a struggle, forced entry or burglary. No other details were available as the investigation continued.
