August 15th, 2011 10:15 am by Staff Report

NASHVILLE (AP) — Metro Nashville Police are investigating the discovery of a human body in a flaming sport utility vehicle.

A police officer saw smoke rising from an alley on the city's north side early Sunday and discovered the SUV on fire. Firefighters who extinguished the flames found a burned body inside the vehicle.

The person was tentatively identified as a Hendersonville man, but a comparison of dental records will be made to make certain.

Police say they don't yet know if the death is the result of foul play, accident or suicide.
