Bucs’ exhibition stopped for rain

August 15th, 2011 8:10 am by Staff Report

The East Tennessee State men’s soccer team led No. 22 Virginia, 2-1, in an exhibition game called in the 38th minute for rain.
Officials decided to cancel the game and play two 30 minute halves today at 8:30 a.m.
David Haba got the Bucs ahead early, finding the back of the net off a give-and-go from Aaron Schoenfeld.
The Bucs put away their second goal in the 26’ minute off a sliding shot from Alesi Osorio. Nate Hodges crossed the ball in from just outside the right side of the 18-yard box and found Haba who headed it toward a sliding Osorio right in front of the goal.
The 22nd ranked Cavaliers would respond in the 33rd minute after forcing a corner. The game was then called in the 38th minute due to inclement weather in the area.
