ELIZABETHTON — A Carter County deputy said he arrested a man on a 10th offense of driving on a revoked license after he noticed the man driving a motorcycle without a helmet.
Randy Robinson, 55, 119 Landfill Road, was arrested on a charge of 10th offense driving on a revoked license and a violation of the helmet law. Robinson is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on Sept. 2.
Lt. L.C. Tester of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department said he first noticed the motorcycle traveling north on Old Lacy Hollow Road on Thursday afternoon. He said the rider was not wearing a helmet.
Tester turned to follow the motorcyclist but lost sight of him. He said Deputy Wayne Pritchard saw Robinson at 191 Minton Hollow Road and arrested him.
Tester said Robinson had been charged with driving on a revoked license seven times in Carter County between Feb. 7, 1997, and Oct. 14, 2008. He said Robinson had also been convicted of driving on a revoked license in Washington County on Oct. 9, 1997, and in Johnson County on Nov. 12, 1991.
