Woman charged with embezzling thousands from Seaton law office in Johnson City

An Elizabethton woman has been charged with embezzling money from a Johnson City law office.
Lisa Potter, 43, 919 N. Sycamore St., Elizabethton, was charged with embezzlement over $60,000.
Potter was arrested Wednesday after attorney Tony Seaton told Johnson City police investigators that an audit had revealed that more than $60,000 in funds was missing from the office's accounts over the last 2 1/2 years, according to a police report.
The audit covered the period between October 2008 through May 27 of this year, police said in the report. Seaton reported the missing funds to police June 21.
Potter remained jailed this morning at the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.
