Two Kingsport women accused of embezzling from charity fund

GATE CITY, Va. — Two officers of a local Ruritan Club were indicted on felony charges in Scott County Monday for allegedly embezzling thousands in proceeds from the organization’s charity bingo operation.
Louise Harrison, 65, 859 Bancroft Chapel Road, Kingsport, was indicted by a grand jury on four felony counts of converting over $200 in charitable gaming funds for personal use and a single count of felony money laundering.
Brenda McNutt, 64, 112 Pennsylvania Ave., Kingsport, was indicted on three felony counts of conspiracy to convert charitable gaming funds.
