ELIZABETHTON — A man who was arrested on two counts of child rape last week had his first appearance in court on Monday.
Harry Thomas Head Jr., 39, was in Sessions Court on Monday. Judge John Walton set Head's bond at $75,000 and set his next court appearance for Sept. 23. Walton also ordered Head to have no contact with the alleged victims in the case.
The Elizabethton Police Department began an investigation after receiving an anonymous tip on July 26. Head was taken into custody that day on outstanding warrants out of Bradley County.
Four children, aged 9, 7, 5 and 2, were taken from the Heads' residence by Tennessee Children's Protective Service. The CPS investigator told the Elizabethton investigators that two of the children said Head had them perform oral sex on him over the past several months.
