August 2nd, 2011 12:24 am by Staff Report

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Memphis-area authorities say they are searching for a man who is suspected of attacking two women with a machete.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office says detectives answered a call at a hospital where a woman was being treated for multiple injuries. She told detectives that she was attacked by her boyfriend, who came to her home wielding a machete.

Authorities say the man, 37-year-old Antonio White, forced his way into the home while she was asleep. The girlfriend told detectives that she and another woman who was in the home were assaulted and held against their will.

White has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated burglary and aggravated kidnapping. Authorities say he may be in the Memphis community of Frayser.
