Nashville police trainee arrested after dispute

July 31st, 2011 9:00 am by Staff Report

NASHVILLE (AP) — A Metro Nashville Police officer trainee has been charged with carjacking, assault and theft of services after a dispute with a taxi driver.

Yellow Cab driver Hassan Jama told police he picked up 36-year-old trainee Kyle Shedron at about 5 a.m. on Saturday.

But when they got to Shedron's street, Shedron said he would not pay.

The two men then had words outside the cab, and Jama claims Shedron bumped and pushed him.

Jama ran and Shedron got into the cab and drove away.

The cab was later found a short distance from the scene with Shedron's wallet in the back seat.

Shedron was fired after his arrest, according to a news release from Nashville Police.

He was jailed on a $55,000 bond.
