A bicyclist was taken to Johnson City Medical Center Thursday morning after being struck by a van at a busy Johnson City intersection, police said.
The accident was reported at about 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of South Roan Street and West State of Franklin Road. Joseph D.
Rzeczycki, 60, was riding westbound on the sidewalk parallel to East State of Franklin Road when he entered the crosswalk at South Roan Street and was struck by a 1994 Nissan Quest, driven by Arthur J. Constable, 86, police said in the accident report.
Constable was turning left onto South Roan when he struck Rzeczycki, police said.
Both men reportedly had the green light, but Constable was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
Rzeczycki was later released from the hospital.
