Bristol pair indicted in connection with murder of neighbor

BLOUNTVILLE — A Bristol pair charged in connection with a Sullivan County man’s murder have been indicted on several charges.

Rachel Lynn Calhoun, 41, and Willie Mack Coleman, 61, both of 1148 Reedy Creek Road, Bristol, Tenn., are accused in connection with the death of a neighbor, Johnny Shankel, 73.

A Sullivan County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Calhoun on charges of premeditated and felony first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, identity theft, and fraudulent use of a credit card. Coleman was indicted on charges of accessory after the fact, false report and tampering with evidence, and a theft charge was dropped.
