July 27th, 2011 12:10 am by Staff Reports

Elizabethton’s Covered Bridge has spanned the Doe River for 130 years and has undergone many rehabilitation projects to keep it in shape.
Sealed bids are being accepted for the latest project, which will include removing the old roofing and installing new wooden shakes, removing damaged side boards and installing new boards, including exterior and interior painting.
There will also be repairs to damaged structural members, installation of a new fire protection system, new lighting fixtures, handicapped accessibility improvements, bird protection and other items as needed.
Bidding documents may be examined at Tysinger, Hampton and Partners, 3428 Bristol Highway, Johnson City.
