Competition applications now being accepted

Business are now invited to complete an application for a 2011 CenturyLink Faith in the Future Award. The Chamber of Commerce serving Johnson City-Jonesborough-Washington County is serving as the lead coordinator in this endeavor with CenturyLink.
Chamber and non-Chamber members from Carter, Greene, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington counties are invited to participate. Non-Chamber members pay a non-refundable $25 application fee. The award honors businesses that make an investment in their facilities, product lines, service offerings, employees, and/or the marketplace. CenturyLink wants to recognize businesses that demonstrate a commitment to the future of the community and region. Two applicants will be recognized for these “investments” per business category. The applying business may be a member in good standing of one of the 5 chambers or doing business in any of the five areas. The business must be financially stable and operational for at least 12 months, and the applicant must be the owner or a manager of the business. An independent evaluation team will review all applications, choosing two winners per category. Winners in each category will be recognized at the Nov. 3 CenturyLink Faith in the Future Luncheon at the Millennium Centre, Johnson City.
