Rick Chantry, Realtor, was recently named the second recipient of the 2011 Mark Keesecker Humanitarian Award by the Northeast Tennessee Association of Realtors. Chantry has served on several boards and is passionate about raising funds in the service of others, as well as making generous donations to local schools, fire departments and the local Shriner’s organization. Chantry is a member of Kiwanis, rings the bell for the Salvation Army, volunteers at the Appalachian State Fair and Bristol Motor Speedway for various charities during the year.
He has served on NETAR’s Board of Directors and is currently serving on the MLS Board of Directors as treasurer. Chantry is a Silver Circle Service Award Recipient, a member of NETAR’s Hall of Fame and has served on several committees. Chantry is active in the building process of the new Hospital Guest House of Southern Appalachia. He has attended meetings, worked on fundraisers, helped with publicity, recruited new board and committee members and raised awareness to build this new guest house. Chantry is involved in Contact Ministries, providing services to people in personal crisis. He is a hospital Chaplin, an ordained minister, and pastors a local church.
The award is intended to recognize individual contributions, not association- or company-wide efforts. Candidates provide documents with the results of their individual involvement through published reports and/or testimonials from the organization they served or the people they helped.
