Seven receive HR certification

Seven Success Dynamics’ Human Resource class graduates have received national certification as Professionals in Human Resource by the Human Resource Certification Instititue. Donna White, PHR; Rickie Hoyle, PHR; Kathie Baker, SPHR; David Bailey, SPHR; Sandy Westelaken, SPHR; Kelly Ison, SPHR; and David Burroughs, PHR were awarded the certification after demonstrating comprehensive knowledge in the technical and operational aspect of the human resource function, including the areas of strategic management, work force planning, employment, human resource development, compensation, wage and hour, benefits administration, employee and labor relations, risk management and occupational health safety and security.
White is employed by Frontier Health in the HR department.
Hoyle is the customer service manager of Lowes in Johnson City. He attended Northeast State College and is a volunteer for the American Red Cross.
Baker is the regional HR director for Advanced Home Care. She holds a master’s degree from East Tennessee State University and is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and the National Association of Professional Women.
Bailey is senior vice president at American Patriot Bank. He is a member of the Greene County Human Resource Association and serves on the Center for Technology Advisory Council. He is a volunteer for the United Way.
Westelaken is the HR manager at QEP Co. She holds a B.S. in management and is a coordinator of employer-sponsored events for the Second Harvest Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity and the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House.
Ison is the owner of Gate City Funeral Home and principal at Ison Management and Labor Relations Consulting. He holds a master’s degree in business management from London Business School, a B.S. in labor studies from the National Labor College. He was previously a pilot for US Airways and former president of Tomcat Global Manufacturing in Europe.
Burroughs is a loss prevention supervisor for Kohl’s Retail Stores. He holds a bachelor’s in business administration from ETSU, a bachelor’s in administration of justice from Southern Illinois University and is a member of the East Tennessee Benefits and Compensation Association and the Knights of Columbus.
