A Gray man was killed Saturday in an early morning house fire, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to 315 Delmer Saults Road at 7:35 a.m. in reference to a house fire. The officers found Adam Ross Good, 43, of the residence, several feet away from the front door of the house, which was reportedly 70 percent engulfed in flames.
Good was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy was ordered at East Tennessee State University’s James H. Quillen College of Medicine.
Firefighters from the Johnson City Fire Department, and Gray, Sulphur Springs and Fall Branch volunteer fire departments responded to the blaze.
A K-9 arson dog from the State Fire Marshal’s Office also assisted with the investigation. The K-9 unit did not detect any accelerants in the house.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by WCSO investigators and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
