CHATTANOOGA (AP) — The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga has three more residents.
Three more four-eyed turtles have been hatched, bringing the aquarium population to 10 males, 11 females and 10 juveniles.
Females of this species tend to lay only one clutch of one to four eggs per year.
The babies will be housed off-exhibit, but this species can be viewed in the nursery tanks.
The aquarium, which opened in 1992, focuses on telling the story of the Tennessee River.
