KNOXVILLE - Police arrested two homeless men on charges they had broken into a business padlocked the day before to steal beer that was ferried back to their camp.

Sandy Lee Proffitt, 51, and Troy Wayne Collins, 36, are in jail this morning facing charges of burglary and public intoxication, records show. Each is being held in lieu of $8,000 bond.

Officers responded at 7:41 p.m. Wednesday to a burglary call at the Central Convenience Store, 2240 Keith Ave., according to Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk.
