KNOXVILLE - Police this morning are searching for three men who fled on foot after shooting a man in the back during a foiled carjacking in North Knoxville.
Wilmar Santos, 29, address unavailable, was admitted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of the gunshot wound, according to Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk. Police said Santos had a non-life threatening injury.
Santos was accosted about 11 p.m. Tuesday as he parked his gold pickup truck near 411 James Street, according to KPD Sgt. Jason Hill.
