July 11th, 2011 4:17 pm by Staff Report

MILLIGAN COLLEGE — The West Carter County Volunteer Fire Hall was damaged during a Sunday evening accident involving a car and a truck. No injuries were reported.
The accident began when Jordan Mannix, 21, 66 Milligan Highway, Johnson City, said the brakes failed in his 2002 Ford F150 pickup truck, causing him to crash into the rear of a 1998 Audi A4 driven by Leah M. Deloach, 27, 112 Hidden Oaks Drive, Johnson City.
Patrolman James Deese of the Elizabethton Police Department reported the impact of the crash caused Deloach’s car to veer to the right and leave the Milligan Highway and crash into the fire hall Deese checked the brakes on the pickup truck and found the pedal went all the way to the floor.
The investigation is ongoing.
