July 5th, 2011 11:27 pm by Staff Reports

A city woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon on aggravated assault charges after she allegedly threatened several neighbors with a baseball bat, police said in a news release.
According to the police report, Billie Kemper, 52, 301 Royal Circle, No. 80, was found standing outside near the apartment building holding a baseball bat. She was “very upset and very uncooperative towards officers.”
Kemper reportedly got into an argument with a neighbor, Clarence A. Johnson, before getting into another argument in the building’s breezeway with George B. Aukes, 42, and Jessica M. Aukes, 19.
The three continued arguing until Kemper allegedly returned to her apartment and came back outside with the baseball bat.
Police said Kemper was “swinging the bat in a threatening manner towards them and telling them to come over to her.”
Kemper was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bond. She is schedule to appear in Sessions Court Thursday at 9 a.m.
