KINGSPORT — A four-vehicle collision on East Stone Drive sent multiple people to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, including two children with very serious injuries.
It occurred shortly before 2 p.m. at the entrance to the Kingsport Pavilion. According to Kingsport Police Officer Aaron Grimes, the incident was triggered in the westbound lanes of 11-W, at the intersection outside of the shopping center's main entrance.
A Kia minivan was in the left turn lane and preparing to enter the shopping complex across Stone Drive from the Pavilion. A westbound Chevrolet Suburban struck the back of the van -- which contained two children as passengers -- pushing it head-on into oncoming lanes of traffic.comments powered by Disqus
