KINGSPORT — A Kingsport man faces three felonies after allegedly pulling out a handgun while inside Dairy Queen, placing the barrel to a customer's back as he ordered food, then demanding money under the threat of murder.

According to a Kingsport Police Department incident report, at approximately 11:25 Saturday morning police responded to the restaurant, 819 Lynn Garden Drive. A 54-year-old man reported that he was placing an order when an acquaintance, Jimmie W. McGhee, 68, approached behind him.

The victim told police that McGhee pulled out a handgun and pushed the barrel against his back, then demanded "Give me all you (expletive) money, or I'll kill you." Police say two Dairy Queen employees were by the counter when the incident occurred, while a review of surveillance footage corroborated everyone's account.
