BRISTOL, Tenn. — A Bristol woman is facing charges after she allegedly hit another vehicle and struck the entrance to an animal hospital Monday while driving a van loaded with children.
Bristol police said the incident occurred at approximately 1:10 p.m. at the intersection of Anderson Street and Sixth Street near downtown Bristol.
Marzetta O. Burks, no age given, was reportedly driving a 1995 Dodge Ram 3500 passenger van registered to Girls, Inc. of Bristol when the wreck took place. The van was transporting an undisclosed number of children ages 8 to 13 at the time.
Police said Burks had run a stop sign and was crossing Anderson Street from Sixth Street when she struck a 1997 Ford Explorer driven by Brenda Gammon.
