ELIZABETHTON -- Jay Baum's run-scoring single in the seventh inning broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Pulaski Mariners a 2-1 victory over the Elizabethton Twins Monday night at Joe O'Brien Field.
One night after the Twins scored both of their runs in a 2-0 win on wild pitches, they gave one back the same way. Pulaski grabbed a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Nelson Ward scored on Elizabethton starter Derek Pinella's wild pitch.
The Twins got back to even in the sixth inning when Austin Diemer's line-drive single scored Max Murphy.
Pulaski pulled back ahead in the seventh on Baum's RBI single, his third hit of the night.
The Twins were held to four hits. They have combined for six in the first two games of the series.
The two teams will conclude the series today with a 7 p.m. game.comments powered by Disqus
