KINGSPORT — The names of two men who were involved in a crash on Interstate 81 Monday, which resulted in one of them being killed, have been released.

James C. Hoover, 54, Stone Park, Illinois, received fatal injuries after being ejected. His passenger, Jackson David Meadows, 45, Knoxville, received non-life threatening injuries.

According to an investigation done by the Kingsport Police Patrol and Traffic Units, a red 1992 Geo Tracker was traveling northbound on I-81 around mile marker 64.8 when for unknown reason, the car veered off the left side of the road into the median. When Hoover tried to get the Tracker back on the road, he overcorrected, which sent the vehicle sideways.
