President Obama promised many times, both as a candidate and as president, that he would deal effectively with the problems in the Department of Veterans Affairs health care system. Unfortunately, by this time we know how much a promise from the current commander-in-chief is worth.
Barack Obama lacks a common decency. What some people mistake for the president’s coolness is actually just insensitivity. He views the men who died in Benghazi, Libya and in VA hospitals not as fellow Americans to be mourned, but as political issues that may interrupt the enactment of his agenda. In simple terms, he just doesn’t care.
The president is an immensely gifted actor, however, with the ability to convince some into believing anything that he wants them to. In reality, he is a hollow man and an empty suit. After five years in office, he finally discovered the way to Arlington National Cemetery last week to pay tribute to those whose sacrifice can never be repaid. It is hard to imagine a more cold-hearted political decision from recent history.
In his recent “victory lap” speech at the White House, Obama celebrated the fact that he had intimidated enough people to sign up for the Affordable Care Act. He then accused Republicans of wanting to take away Americans’ health care. It is obvious now who desired that.
The VA scandal is just the first instance of what is to come, now that Obamacare is the law of the land. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was ridiculed and called names that cannot appear in the Johnson City Press when she pointed out quite correctly that this would be the result of his legislation. She is owed many apologies, none of which will be issued.
So get used to the “new normal” America. Here’s hoping that your fate is much better than these veterans received.
