Johnson City lacks useful amenities

Johnson City lacks useful amenities

Here we go again. We still don’t have an animal shelter, only a hint of one. We have no farmers market, only a hint of one. And don’t get me started on a seniors’ center just for seniors.
Meanwhile, the city can spend money on sidewalks with benches to sit on at certain spaces. I have never seen anyone using the benches at the corner of University Parkway and State of Franklin Road. Maybe it’s because they are in the blazing sun. Who would want to use them? That was money that could be used for a farmers market.
The new beauty of the city won’t bring new people to the city. People want things they can use — not just look at. No animal shelter, no farmers market and no public outdoor pool. Forget the sidewalks and benches. Give us something we want to use.
